Baozhong
Taiwan
Lightly oxidized, almost like a green tea with more body. Lilac, gardenia, and spring rain.
The Story
Baozhong (Pouchong) is Taiwan's lightest oolong, only 15-20% oxidized. The leaves are rolled into loose, twisted shapes rather than tight balls. It bridges green tea's freshness with oolong's complexity. Baozhong from Pinglin, near Taipei, is particularly prized for its delicate floral character.

Brewing Tips
Treat Baozhong more like green tea than oolong—lower temperature preserves its delicate floral notes. The loose leaves need room; don't pack them tightly. Wonderful cold-brewed for summer.
