Mint Karak
Gulf Region
Fresh mint adds brightness and aids digestion—a lighter, more refreshing take on the classic.
The Story
Mint tea is beloved across the Arab world, and it was only natural for it to meet karak. Fresh mint leaves add a cooling brightness that balances the richness, while aiding digestion after heavy meals. It's popular after iftar during Ramadan, when something soothing is needed. The mint makes it feel lighter, more refreshing, though it's still unmistakably karak.

Brewing Tips
Use fresh mint only—dried won't give the brightness. Add mint in the last 2-3 minutes to keep it fresh, not cooked. Bruise the leaves slightly to release oils. Garnish with a fresh sprig. Works beautifully iced in summer.
