Rooibos
South Africa
Red bush tea from the Cape—vanilla-sweet, caffeine-free, and impossible not to love.
The Story
Rooibos grows only in South Africa's Cederberg region, where it's been consumed for centuries. The needle-like leaves turn red when oxidized, creating the familiar 'red tea.' It's become beloved worldwide for its natural sweetness, complete lack of caffeine, and antioxidant content. Green (unoxidized) rooibos also exists but is less common.
